Challenge

When we attended the Dawaco user day in 2019, it was announced that the new version of Dawaco could provide the mandatory data from the Subsurface Basic Registration (BRO) through automated messaging.

We, as the province of Fryslân, were happy with this because the BRO law had come into effect a year earlier and we had also just received a BRO coordinator a few months before the user day. When asked whether we also wanted to test this functionality in the pilot phase, we answered with a resounding yes.

Solution

After a period of testing, we managed to supply well data (GMW) to the BRO. Soon afterwards we were also able to send changes to the previously supplied data. It took some effort to eventually get the groundwater levels (GLD) to the lv-BRO, but in the end we succeeded.

We have been working with this version of Dawaco for a while now and more than 180,000 messages have been sent to the national facility. These are not only our wells and measurements from recent years, but also the complete history has now almost completely been provided. We are very happy with this, because now everyone can view our data via the bro counter!

"The pilot phase was long and at times very intense, but how glad I am that we chose this path!"
